  • Handles more than 50 tonnes of packaging per year.

    • Large producers have additional responsibilities, including:

  • Registering with the relevant environmental regulator.
  • Reporting the type and amount of packaging handled annually.
  • Paying a registration fee.
  • Meeting recycling obligations by obtaining Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs) or Packaging Export Recovery Notes (PERNs) equivalent to the weight of packaging placed on the market.
